Post LEETZ surgery healing

Hi there,

I had the Llletz surgery 3 months ago that seems to have gone successfully. I bled afterwards a little more than expected (spotting most of the first month and half of the second) and my periods have been back to normal and the extra bleeding stopped.
Then two weeks ago I have started to bleed again after my most recent period and it hasn’t stopped since. I’m not having as much blood as a period but enough for it to be of concern as the blood is fresh so I’m worried I’m not healing. Does this happen? In the aftercare paperwork I was given it said usually everything should heal up in 6 weeks. I am due to see my GP but have to wait an extra 2 weeks for my appointment so am hoping to get some advice on here in the meantime. I’m also anaemic so that doesn’t help!

Any updates?? I’m going through exactly the same thing! Currently being treated as an infection. X

Hey there,

I managed to see the specialist that did my surgery. He examined me and said the excision site has healed but it not normal to bleed for this long. I’m having a transvaginal ultrasound to figure out the cause of the extra bleeding to look further in. So I guess I would recommend the same to you. I didn’t have an infection, so I’m sorry that you’re going through that. Also taking extra iron seems like a good idea to help with the blood loss. I hope you feel better soon and get to the bottom of your extra bleeding. x
