New referral

Hi all,

I am new to this forum as just been referred for a colposcopy which is on Weds.

I have been referred as had intermittent bleeding since last trimester and its got worse since section 10 weeks ago. I went to GP who referred me to gynae assessment unit who did a speculum and internal and said cervix looks and feels abnormal. Had a smear 3 years ago so due one now which I assume they will do at colposcopy.

I am really anxious as getting lots of cramps and back pain and speculum exam was so painful and bled lots afterwards.

Is the colposcopy more painful or similar to smear and what about biopsies as I was told no local?! Just nervous as can only take paracetamol due to breastfeeding.

Hi,

I had both the col and biopsies today and didn't feel any discomfort at all then procedure is fast and they are able to do it minimal pain I honestly didn't feel much at all.

I had mine done 2weeks ago and mine was fine and I'm mardy lol you will be fine hunny xx
