Basically I have to go to hospital in December this year for what’s called a smear and also a colposcopy assessment and I think it means I have to have a smear test at the hospital I vaguely remember the nurses saying that to me after my last visit, and it literally says on the letter that I have to come in for a smear. Into the colposcopy clinic. I’m just panicking.
It sounds like you'll be having a colposcopy. They're very similar to smears, only last a little longer and they examine your cervix more. Are you able to ring your GP to ask for clarification?
I agree with the previous response, however there should be a number to call on your letter, they're usually really helpful when I ring to ask any questions.
