HPV positive and first time colopscopy

Hi,
I’m 26 and going in for my first colopscopy tomorrow. I was HPV positive in 2021 and again in 2022 but this time round I’ve got ‘borderline cell changes’. I’m so anxious that I’ve developed CC. Stupidly, I’ve read every horror story on the Internet, so I’m just wonderinf if there’s anyone out there who has had a similar experience and are willing to share it to an incredibly worried person x

It’s great that you’re in for colposcopy. I didn’t find this any worse than smear testing and the staff were fabulous. Regardless of treatment tomorrow, I would simply say to make sure you are on regular recall to the colposcopy clinic. Every 12 months at least. Things can develop quicker than the general rule so, knowing you are HPV positive is a reason to be extra vigilant. Good luck. You’ve got this.
