Ye lm ok just a little sore down there not as much as i thought i wud b thou i was there 5 hrs from start to finish i wud lik to say the pain is not as bad as i thought after i cone out of general all i had was gas n air n that did me fine x

OMG I'm going crazy.. my first Brachy suppose to be today, but they have moved it to Tuesday.. I'm so scared... I have Cystitis as a side effect from the treatment (5 chemo, 28 radio done) and it hurts so much already. This feeling drives me crazy.. and they looked at my cervix on Tuesday using these metal spoons.. I felt pain for the rest of the day after that.. this procedure sounds like a horror movie indeed... I don't know how to calm down. This pain of Cystitis gets even stronger when they touch me. And they told me it will take about an hour to wait will all these things inside the vagina. Omg omg....

Im very sore down there from other treatment to i have no pain fresh hold thou dint mean to scare u it's not as bsd as u imagen they can give u pain killers she tried to keep me on gas n air as by time i come round n became in pain ot wasnt long left till i had to go to b treatment plz dnt b scared xx
Hi ladies
have 2-3 silts baths with baking soda and it will help with the pain down there. I also made a mix of baking soda and water and put it in a peri bottle with warm water and sprayed while going to the loo. It won't stings so much. Trust me on this it works. Ask your nurse for a peri bottle if you don't have one. Also ask for a barrier cream that is good. I used one called pro-shield plus. It was a bit pricy but well worth the money. If you are unsure about the skin down there or need some advice ask to see the skin care specialist. They have many tricks that help. I had so much irritation if anything rubbed so I applied the cream and used a medium size sterile make up pad remover you can buy at drug stores and i left it on over the area. Just watch for any sloughing of the skin because you might need a stronger cream. I developed a bad case of my skin just sloughing off in the folds of my vagina and had to use flamzine (same cream they use for burn victims) and it helped me tremendously. But the siltz baths were so comforting.
The skin down there is super sensitive especially during treatment that do not be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

Help me you shouldn't use sudo cream it's full of zinc. I used it too and then told the radation team and they wiped it off straight away and told me I should use it as it can cause more irritation. They gave me a gel called nu gel

do not use any creams that have zinc or talc. Even certain creams just before treatment can be harmful, go see the skin care nurse just ask!!!! You don't need to develop an infection or cause more damage.
My skin sloughed off from front to back. All the way up my butt crack. When I say sloughing I mean just falling off layer by layer It hurt A lot. I ended up going to have the skin care nurse help me everyday after I was done radio for the last week. Even if you think you have it under control it doesn't hurt to have her check it out. As I said they can advise you on what creams you can and cannot use.
My vagina pretty much fell off and I grew a new one because mine was pretty bad but everyone is different and it does depend on how low the radiation field goes.

Aw that's great help me hope the cream works. Just out of my first brachy and it couldn't have gone better I had no pain or discomfort through out the whole treatment and the day flew. I did have to get two blood transfusions as for the the first time in my treatment a lot of my blood counts were down but it was fine. I am a bit tinder now waiting in the nite to give me so good pain killers. But all in all a very positive exper me I didn't see what was up me at all as I asked the doctors and nurse to come cover it at all times so I think this really helped with my anxiety as I don't think I'd be able to look at down there the same ever again
