Hi, I am new here and just wondered if anyone had any advice. I had a repeat smear on 8 Nov after the routine one in July was inadequate. Today is day 12 and still not had results back. Just wondered if anyone knew if the Trust still send a letter after a repeat is done? I cant ring surgery as it is closed. Historically I have heard after a week. Does anyone have experience of this? My last smear was 5 years ago as I am in my fifties. Thanking you in advance
I was told it can take 2-3 weeks but presumably it depends where you are, mine took 15 days to come back. They do send a letter, but give the GP practice a call later this week if you still haven't heard as a nurse should be able to tell you over the phone if they have the results. Hope that helps!
My smear results were 2 weeks exactly and in my county it is advised that it takes 2 weeks x
