A quick question

Hi everyone, I had a colposcopy last week after suffering with bleeding after sex.  I have had scans and HPV tests ect and everything has come back clear.  Whilst I was talking to the consutant before the coposcopy (he was the doctor who took the initial tests)  he was sure that I had 'cervical ectropion' and that he would carry out the cervical cautery during this examination.  My question is do you always have biopsies taken during a colposcopy because he started to carry out the procedure and then told me he wouldnt be able to carry ut the cautery on that occasion, but I shouldn't worry too much about it.  I know i shoud have asked more questions but you all know what its like :-)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
