Watery Discharge after treatment

im going to call the nurse tomorow morning but it’s 6 weeks since my treatment ended

25 rads, 5 chemo and 19 hours pulsed rate brachytherapy and I’m still having a watery discharge

it started off brownish and now it’s sort of beige and very watery and I need to wear a liner day and night.

dilation going well, only pinky residue after dilation, no blood

bit has anyone else had this for so long?

everything I’ve read says 4-6 weeks after you have discharge

it is getting less, but I’m a bit concerned

Hi. I have no idea what is supposed to be normal but the watery discharge sounds familiar. I am three months post treatment and I had watery discharge for weeks after my final brachytherapy. I too had to wear sanitary towels. It did get less over time but I’m probably still getting a bit now.

Sorry I’m not more help but hopefully your nurse can put your mind at rest x

Thank you susan

ill call the nurse, but that makes me feel much better

Hi,

I have had a clear discharge that had increased since november last year to approx 3 pads/day minimum. It was definitely vaginal too and not urinary. I contacted my radiation oncologist who got got me in for a appt early december last year. He did a pv exam at the time and took swabs just in case. They also did a ct pelvis as i had lower pelvic pain aswell. I still have the discharge which everyone is aware of bit. They like to check it out anyway. So contact your nurse and advise them. Any change in discharge is important to check out. Please give them a call.

Well still getting this discharge.

worse after dilation and pretty constant 2 liners a day!

went to my docs and she took swabs, all negative and my nurse specialist says it’s ‘my normal’, but it’s driving me mad and I can’t help worrying

its definitely vaginal

there must be someone out there that has had this constantly for so long

is there?

I had brachytherapy for uterine cancer in November. My last one was November 4th. Since late December I have been having a very light yellow watery discharge. I don’t have to wear a panty liner.  But, I do notice wetness in my underwear almost daily. It increases when I have intercourse.  I have to wear a panty liner for about 6 hours after having sex. Then back to the normal light discharge

I had a total hysterectomy in August  2018.  It was not until December that I started having the discharge  it happens after using the dialator too.

I have been seen by the radiation oncologist and he noticed that the vaginal cuff was not completely healed.  Ok, it closed up after a month and I’m still having the discharge.  Not as much as before but it is a daily fluid.

I have been told that as long as the discharge is not bloody, nothing to worry about.   However, no one can explain the watery light yellow discharge.

Did anyone get answers concerning this discharge?  What’s causing it?  I don’t know anyone else who had this issue after the hysterectomy and brachytherapy .
