Hey everyone. Ive been diagnosised with Stage 1a1, ive to get second lletz procedure done in another 3 weeks. Anybody else who has had the same? Suppose im just worried that doesnt remove all of the abnormal cells. Just wondering other womens stories who have had stage 1a1. Thank you xx
Hi Sam. I was found to have stage 1A1 squamous cell carcinoma in 2014, I had 1 lletz procedure but they weren’t sure if they’d been able to remove it all so I went for a cone biopsy. This was done under general anaesthesic as a day case & involves removing a larger part of the cervix than can be done with lazer. I’ve had yearly colposcopy done since then & they have all been fine - I’m going for my last yearly colposcopy in September and will then be discharged and back to 3 yearly smear tests at GP surgery following that.
