Smear 6mos after LLETZ

Hi all, I had CIN3 and so a LLETZ procedure 6 months ago. I just went for my 6 month follow-up smear and my results were HPV negative! I’m incredibly relieved but also confused because it doesn’t seem like they checked for any cell changes. What if there are still CIN changes?

Is it normal to only check for HPV and not cell changes on your first smear after a LLETZ?

The letter says I’m to go back to 3 yearly smears now.

Hello congratulations for HPV free this is great news
The NHS does HPV test at 6 months after Lletz and if negative no need for further checks as you don’t have what causes the cells to become abnormal so you can now relax.
Some countries and some private companies do it differently as they do a colposcopy at 6 months check together with HPV but be assured you are fine no HPV is the best news congratulations .

But if you feel anxious about waiting 3 years maybe do a private test in a years time or so. Take care
