Post treatment for 1b3

Cervical cancer post treatment and side effects

Hi Ladies,

I’ve recently just finished treatment for 1b3 cervical cancer. Initially staged as 1a2 and had a radical hysterectomy on 1st March. It was regraded as 1b3 following my hysterectomy so they gave me 25 radiotherapy, 5 chemotherapy and 3 brachytherapy. I have my first scan on 30th August and I am so worried that the treatment hasn’t worked, I don’t know why I keep thinking like this, I think it’s with every little ache/pain I keep getting. I never had any symptoms before I was diagnosed it was picked up during a routine smear. Is it normal to feel this way?

Perfectly normal to feel like that.
I also had 1b3 and had no symptoms. I also had 25 radiation, 5 chemo and 3 brachy. I am now one year post treatment and had 2 clear PET scans - one 3 months after treatment and one 9 months after. At each scan I went in with lower back ache and other various twinges and aches that I was convinced it was back. But it wasn’t!
