this is is my first time posting as I can’t seem to find the answer to my question.
I had my Lletz procedure in March this year for CIN2/3 cells. The letter I got following that was vague and said all cells removed and to come in for a follow up and smear in 6 months.
My appointment was mwant to be last week, but the hospital had to reschedule.
Can anyone tell me what they do at this appointment? If all clear when do I go back for another smear? If not all clear what happens, will they do another Lletz there and then?
It is standard procedure to have another smear 6 months later to make sure it comes back all clear after your cervix has had a chance to heal. Mine came back clear after having the Lletz but I still had to have another colposcopy to double check and to also see how my cervix had healed. It was scary to have to go back but the good thing is they are keeping an eye on you! I believe a lot of Hospitals and GP's work differently so it's best to ask them all these questions at your appointment.
