Has anyone got experience of a hysterectomy, post menopause in their early 50s?
I was diagnosed with CGIN stage 1 which was removed a year ago by LLETZ.
I am having regular smears and MRIs and today went for review with my oncologist. He is happy with my progress and we discussed potentially having a hysterectomy. There is a history of ovarian cancer in my family and obviously a full hysterectomy would prevent any recurrence of cervical cancer or ovarian cancer.
I haven’t had a period of nearly 2 years and my FSH is 63 so I am classed as post menopause.
I had a slight bleed a few months ago, the cause of which was a polyp which was removed and found to be non cancerous during a hysteroscopy.
