Clots. BIG ONES.

Hi guys, I’m back again!
So I had LLETZ for cin3 12 days ago. Had some pretty bad cramping and a whole lot of coal discharge for the last week, then today, as it was mercifully clearing up and I had my first positive, proactive day since the procedure, I went for a wee and out came a clot the size of a lemon. No joke, never seen anything like it in my life. I was gushing everywhere. I have never experienced anything like it in my life and was naturally worried. Rang 111 they referred me to my out of hours doctor who I spoke to on the phone. He just said it was normal. Now I’m obviously not a qualified doctor but I really don’t think it was normal. Bright red blood and a clot that size!?. Haven’t had any bleeding before this and I’m not due on. Even if I was, I’ve never had a period like that.
It says in my aftercare leaflet that about 10-14 after the wound is starting to heal is when I could get an infection and to watch for any blood.
Any ideas girls?
I am FREAKED out!
Xx

Hi gingerspider I don't know what that drs thinking but no this is not normal! I would suggest you either ring colposcopy clinic tomorrow or goto your gp as this is sign of an infection. I had infection I had no clots I had black bits coming out felt so cold literally couldn't get warm I also felt very fluey, I was given anti biotics which kicked in straight away. After my colposcopy she told me to watch out for heavy bleeding where I was having to change a pad regular, a strange smell or blood clots because any of these are sign of infection. Good luck hun xx

Hi Ashley!

Thanks for the reply. Yes this is what I thought :/

I rang the colposcopy clinic this morning and spoke to a consultant. She said it could be that the scab has come off and the clot is breakaway healing, seeing as the bleeding has tapered off. She advised that is it gets worse, if have any other large clots or heavy bleeds to contact the GP for antibiotics. Just in case.

I will trust her as she is the amazing specialist consultant who successfully saved my ovaries last year!

Keeping my fingers and legs crossed for now ;)

xx

I was admitted Saturday with clots & heavy bleeding , I had an infection which caused the heomarrage !

I spent over night on an antibiotic drip and fluids as I lost so much blood

Hi Confetti,

I'm sorry you're in hospital, that must be so awful on top of you waiting to hear (I saw your other post) I will definitely keep a close eye on things but for now the bleeding has stopped.

Sending you some positive vibes and hoping you are feeling better soon. X

Thanks

I'm home now everything calming down !

Wishing the next few days away & hoping you are feeling better soon with positive results xx
