HI
I am a 59yr old female.Past menopause few yrs now.
I had been on 6 monthly smears for past 2 yrs due to
abnormal cells found. Every smear came back same.
Was sent for colcoscopy last november 2019 .Cervix
looked ok but got biopsy and Loop procedure done.
All went ok.I was told normally after such treatments
my next smear check up in 6mths all should be back
to normal ,resulting in going back to normal routine
smears. Due to covid - 19 my smear was a few wks
overdue, that's understandable. Got my smear done in
July this year.Was expecting all back to normal and all
abnormal cells gone.When i got my results I was shocked
to see the worst ever result ive ever had. I am high risk
positive for HPV and have seen different changes in cells
in my cervix.After treatment it has made results worse.
I am waiting on app for colcoscopy clinic within the next
8 weeks.During this time and at my last smear i have been
getting heavy cramp pain on and off as if im due a period.
Cramp pain is more regular and stronger.Never had this ever
till over 6 mths ago.Now i am worried that the loop procedure
has revealed more in depth changes .Don't want another loop.
Just want it all removed as i don't see point in trying to treat this..
Don't think i could live with ongoing abnormal results when a
hysterectomy could solve this.Will they refuse me this operation
make me continue with loop procedures etc ? Know its a major op
but worth it long term.So worried now especially with me having
bad pain now.Also i am nearing the end of the 8wk wait for app
and not had any contact from them .Maybe call them and ask as
maybe with covid around there is a delay in appointments.Haven't
told my family or friends about this.So glad i found this forum and
can air my worries rather than keep this to myself all this time.
