Hi ladies,
I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar story to mine.
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, Adenocarcinoma, on 16th November. It was found during a Lletz treatment to removed CGIN. My consultant did not have any information regarding Grade or Stage as he informed me my case hadn’t been discussed by the cancer specialist team as yet.
I’ve had a CT scan and this morning had my MRI Scan.
I’m booked for a follow up appointment with the consultant tomorrow and they have said they are going to repeat the Lletz procedure tomorrow also.
I just feel like I’m still in the dark abit as to what I’m actually dealing with here.
They won’t be able to grade you reliably until you have had a PET scan, this gives the most accurate picture of the cancer. If they are repeating LLETZ they must feel there is a possibility that they can remove more of the cancer or perhaps they didn’t get a good enough sample the first time.
I have/had stage 3b Adenosquamous carcinoma and only had one LLETZ as I started bleeding badly.
Thank you for your reply. Yes the consultant said this morning the MDT team requested a 2nd Lletz due to the first showing deep lateral margins. So just a wait now for those results alongside the MRI.
Hi your message just popped up on a thread I had so didn’t just want to read and not reply.
I had adenocarcinoma grade 1a2. I didn’t have any symptoms so I was very shocked with my diagnosis.
A couple of years previous to my diagnosis I had bleeding after sex. At the time my GP arranged an ultrasound scan, which came back clear. My previous smear had been ok so this was not repeated. MDT team feels it was missed at this stage.
I hope your MRI scan results were reassuring. If you need to talk I have just been through a hysterectomy so would be happy to give any advice.
