Hi there, I received a smear test 6 weeks ago. For the first time I found it paintful, bled afterwards and was very sick.
The nurse told me she noticed changes in my cervix which she said could be ectropion cervix or it could indicate changes to my cells (she said it can look similar to early stages of cervical cancer).
As you can imagine I’ve been extremely anxious awaiting my results but it’s six weeks later and they have still not arrived. Called my surgery and they said that result may be running behind. Is this normal? I was told they’d arrive within 6 weeks. Just feeling very anxious.
I understand how busy they can be but when your waiting for such results it’s an extremely long time of worry and stress.
