CGIN and cone biopsy

Hi

I've been told I have one of the high risk strains of HPV and CGIN. Had my colposcopy and I've been booked in for a cone biopsy in May. When we left my appointment I felt rather blasé about the whole thing and quite at ease. Then came my booking letter and I'm under the care of gynae oncology and the 'specialist gynae oncology' consultant. I've been worried ever since and I don't really understand why I'm not just a bog standard gynae patient? Is everyone who has treatment for CIN or CGIN under oncology? I can't stop worrying about it but feel like I'm being totally melodramatic

Hi I was same as u when was told I had 16 n 18 hpv and gcin I asked why I was under oncology an was told cause was high risk and gcin more difficult to treat because can skip layers this was a year n half ago had nettz first didn get clear margins den 12 wks later had cone done got clear margins just had my 6 month app smear clear and hpv gone so try not to worry to much I kn it easier said than done but hopefully ul get clear margins an doing cone first fingers crossed for u all goes well xx
