I had a colposcopy a week ago after having a high grade abnormal papsmear. They did 3 biopsies and I finally got the results today. They said it wasn’t cancer or even pre cancer but just abnormal cells that needed to be removed via a cone procedure. I didn’t get to actually talk to the doctor, this was all told to me over the phone from the nurse and she said someone else would be contacting me to schedule surgery and answer any questions. Can anyone tell me what this means? I thought if I had high grade abnormal cells they were precancerous, but they are saying no, and if they aren’t precancerous is it necessary to have this procedure done right now? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
