Let's Meet in Manchester- just over a week away!

Hi everyone,

There is just over a week to go before our annual information day Let’s Meet, which is being held next Saturday 19th September in Manchester. We are really looking forward to seeing everybody there!

There are still places available so if you haven’t already please do sign up - http://www.jostrust.org.uk/support/letsmeet/registration-form.

Let’s Meet is a great place for you to ask questions, get support and meet new people. It is a very informal relaxed day with lots of opportunity to chat and get to know other people who understand what you have been through and can relate to your experiences. If you are feeling nervous about coming alone, why not bring along a partner, family member or a friend to keep you company?

We’ve got an interesting agenda planned and will start the day with Dr Marielle Nobbenhuis, Honorary Consultant Gynae Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital London who will be talking about a diagnosis of cervical cancer and the psychological impact of HPV after diagnosis.

Throughout the day we are offering the following workshops:

* A session to Ask the Gynae-Oncologist

* Early menopause and HRT

* Fertility after LLETZ, cone biopsy and trachelectomy

*Pelvic radiation disease post cervical cancer treatment

*Relationships

*Relaxation and wellbeing

*Sex and intimacy changes after cervical cancer

*Sex Q&A (women only session)

*Recently diagnosed

*How to support your partner and yourself

Please note you can attend a maximum of 3 workshops. When you register we will ask you to choose 3 workshops and a 4th backup option (in case we cannot accommodate your 3 favourites).

Workshop details and the full agenda can be found here:http://www.jostrust.org.uk/support/letsmeet/agenda-and-workshops.

Registration is required and can be done through our online booking form:http://www.jostrust.org.uk/support/letsmeet/registration-form.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Best wishes

Fran

I'm gutted that we've had to drop out of this. Think the workshops would be very helpful to my husband and I right now!!

I'm sorry to hear you aren't able to join us this year but we do hold the event annually so perhaps we will get to see you next year.

We do also have support groups dotted around the country if you do live close by to one of them please feel free to come along. It is a great way to meet other women who have been affected. http://www.jostrust.org.uk/support/support-groups

If your husband feels like he needs support please do let him know about the partner forum, which is a private section where he can connect with other partners going through a similar thing.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if there is anything we can help with.

Best wishes

Fran

Thanks Fran. I'm hopefully attending my first support group this weekend, just waiting on confirmation that it's going ahead. Hubby does know about the partner group here but does not want to access it at this point. Xx
