Yesterday I went under general for a cone biopsy after suspected cgin on my smear, and my colposcopy showing 90% of cervix affected by abnormal cells. On my discharge summary it says I had "uneventful cone biopsy and left loop excision of cervical lesion" .. what does left loop excision of cervical lesion mean please?
I'm not totally sure but perhaps they did a cone biopsy plus a loop excision / LLETZ of a cervical lesion?
I don't know what a cervical lesion is :( ?
A cervical lesion is an area of abnormal cells. Could you call to get clarification. They seem to assume we are familiar with the terminology. I had to get my letter "translated" by my GP.
