Stage confirmed as 2b

Hi just met my gynae today after all scans were out. Now confirmed with stage 2b. Waiting for oncology call to confirm plan. But no surgery for me at this monent. It seems I will be having chemo and rads. Mixed feelings at the moment. Will I make it? Many “ifs” going through my mind. I try to think positive but there’s always that thought in my mind that I won’t make it. This forum keeps me positive and you girls here are very helpflul.

Hi Sandy - so it’s 2B. It’s infinitely do-able, as so many ladies on here have done. In your last post you said adenocarcinoma, so they will get your treatment plan up and running asap. Chemorads is the only way to go at this stage - no surgery for you or they would risk spreading it. Take heart - so many ladies have got through this and you can too! Xxx ((hugs))

Hi Sandy,

I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma stage 2b in May last year. I found the treatment very doable and have had no issues since treatment. Just take it one day at time. This forum is great ask anything and someone will respond, certainly helped me get through treatment and beyond.

Take care xx

Hi!
2b girl here too, and tomorrow 2 and a half years out , no issues during or after treatment. It is really doable , no walk in the park and mentally very challenging but definitely doable. Wishing you the very best

Hi Sandy you can do this. I did. Stage 2b adenocarcinoma. Originally had chemo rads and was left with a small residual tumour central cervical canal. That was October last year. After scans and further biopsy I had a robotic hysterectomy on 22 nd March and was given the all clear 2 weeks ago. It was a nerve wrecking meeting to be told the results. All I can advise is take one step at a time and you will get there. Chemo rads is the most affective treatment and it is a small minority that is left with residual so please don’t worry x

Hi all, just a little update. Yesterday had my first oncology meeting and was given the plan of 5 weeks rads mon-fri and chemo every Monday. Will also be doing 2 brachy and have to go to London as here in Malta still don’t do them. It was kind of another shock that I have to leave for two weeks for the last treatment but now I keep saying that I will do it no matter what.

Brilliant! You now know whats happening. I did a bit of a diary. Its in the treatment section titled ’ I got my start date’ - its got a lot of comments. Not everyone has the same experience but it may give you an idea of what to expect!

Remember to ask if youd like to know anything

I agree . Wonderful range of shower and body creams. It is a time for pampering and doing what you want to do like sleeping at odd times , eating what you fancy and talking things through with trusted friends and family x

Hi. I was diagnosed with stage 2b snd finished treatment last Sept. No evidence of tumour in Dec. Definitely doable. Don’t allow negative thoughts to creep in. That was a big fight for me. x
