My name’s Michelle and I’m new to Jo’s Trust. This forum is a godsend in terms of being able to chat to women who may be experiencing similar symptoms to me and can maybe offer some advice.
Two years ago, my smear came back as abnormal. At the colposcopy, the doctor didn’t seem too concerned but suggested yearly smears for the foreseeable future.
I saw my GP last Monday for some unexplained pelvic pain on the right side. He gave me an internal and took swabs, which have all come back negative. He did, though, diagnose cervical ectropion. I’ve been referred for cryocautery, which I’ve had before about 18 years ago. I do get a very heavy but normal discharge, pain after sex, mid cycle bleeding, bloating and am, at the moment, constipated.
One week on from that appointment; I’ve been back to the doctors as the pain hasn’t subsided. The GP who saw me says the area of pain is situated over my ovaries and is referring me for an ultrasound. I don’t know if it’s related but I’m also having bad headaches over my right eye and what feels like sciatic pain in my left hip and which runs down my full leg.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? I’d be grateful to hear from anyone who might be able to shed any light on my situation.
