Problems Sleeping

Hoping someone can help.

Diagnosed with stage 2 cervical Cancer two weeks ago and having trouble sleeping. Which ever way I lay is very painful and uncomfortable.

Doctor has proscribed me co-codamol, but I’m still waking up in the night with the pain, does anyone have any recommendations which could help.

Thank you!

I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis.

Ask your GP for a low dose of amitriptyline. It's basically an old fashioned antidepressant. Given in a low dose 10 mg it helps with pain and has the useful side effect of aiding sleep. It doesn't knock you out when you go to bed but it's very good at helping you stay asleep.

Good luck with it all and a great many survivors on Jo's.
