I had a loop excision on Friday and have developed a unpleasant smelling discharge. Surely I can’t have developed an infection already? Has anyone else had a similar experience?.
Yes, this happened to me. Mt GP gave me two types of antibiotics. He said infection is common and he thinks antibiotics should be given after the op as a matter of course. The smell cleared up within two days.
Thanks for the advice. Going to see my practice nurse tomorrow. Hopefully she'll prescribe some antibiotics.
