Hi, I just had my first cervical screen and it was very painful. I am worried that I have some other condition that has made it painful and I was scared to tell the nurse at the time. Any advice?

Hi Caitg, they can be very uncomfortable, especially the very first time when you are nervous and tense. You might have also noticed a bit of spotting for a day or two afterwards which is also normal. If you are still in pain after 3-4 days I would get back in touch with your surgery for your own peace of mind xx
