Pain 10 months after radical hysterectomy

Hi
I had a radical hysterectomy in November 2020. Completed 5 rounds of chemo 25 of radiotherapy and a brachytherapy… 1st post surgery CT found blood clots in my lung … but my biggest worry is the amount of pain I am in, the areas at either of my scar is so painful and my stomach is bloated. I’ve not seen my consultant or GP face to face since December and struggle to be able to contact them.
Is it normal to be in pain still? My IBS is a daily battle now, constant flipping between constipation and diahorrea… its really getting me down

Hi KittyBoo

I think you should call your clinical nurse specialist. She’ll be able to discuss your concerns with you and arrange for you to have an appointment your consultant if necessary.

Since completion of my treatment I’ve had worrying symptoms on a couple of occasions and both times was given an urgent appointment to see the consultant.

Best wishes

Hi Jazza
I spoke with my consultant today, she’s asked me to see my GP and get him to assess me. The GP is reluctant to see me face to face. I’ll try him again in the morning

Hi KittyBoo

When you contact your GP surgery emphasise how much pain you have and that the consultant has advised you should be assessed.

I don’t know what the criteria are for an urgent face to face with the consultant; both times I was given an appointment my symptoms included bleeding.

I hope all goes well for you.

Thank you
I have contacted them and they say they will look at my request and get back to me! My consultant said to ring the 24 hour helpline in our oncology dept if my GP won’t see me x
