Outback trial participants?

Hello everyone,

This is my first post, although I’ve been lurking since I was first diagnosed, and found this forum extremely helpful. I have good days and horrible days. Some days I feel like I can beat this cancer and still have a long and happy life, and others when I just feel as though I’m doomed. I’ve finished two surgeries and chemoradiation for my 1b1 with 2 positive lymph nodes, and I’m just starting the experimental arm of the Outback trial. The trial adds 4 cycles of carbo/taxol after finishing chemoradiation to see if it prevents recurrence or extends overall survival, but I have yet to hear of anyone else who’s participated in this trial. I’m in the US, so maybe that’s why? Anyhow, I’m looking for anyone who’s gone through this to see how they are, or if they have any coping tips. The positive lymph nodes have me really freaked out. I’m glad I signed up for the trial. It might not help my chances, but I sorta figure it can’t hurt them either so we’ll see. I hope everyone is hanging in there.

Hi moonbeam I just found your post on a search as I am about to go on the outback trial. I am in Australia.  How are you going?

Hi Mandy, I am in Australia as well (Gold Coast). I have completed the standard chemo-radiation with Cisplatin and about to do the Brachytherapy. My specialist has mentioned the outback trial and I was hoping if you had commenced it, whether you can share your experience and recommendation for it. Thank you.
