Not sure what to think

Hello All

I hope this is the right place to post. This is a great web site with so much useful information I wondered if you might be able to help me?

I am 38 years old and have two children. I have HPV (the type you dont want!) and have been having abnormal smears for 3 years.

I have had a number of colposcopies - some showing abnormalities and some being clear. I have them repeated every 6 months.

Most recently I have been feeling unwell, more bleeding and lower back pain.

Today I could not see my normal Gynae and saw a locum for my 6 monthly check. He was concerned that (because I had both children by emergency section and so my cervix is totally closed) the problem could be higher up?

I have been referred for a scan and he took more smears. He had a very strong accent and so I missed what he was suggesting they would do if my next smear came back abnormal as well - has anyone got any experience of this?

My previous gynae has never mentioned this to me or suggested further testing so now I am worried that something has been missed.

Any advice would be gratefullly receievd!

Thank you!

i was put unger ga yesterday apparently my cervix is awkward ive had 2 caeserians 2 and dont wot action there will take they couldnt do the lletz

Thanks Lesley - was that for abnormalities on the cervix? I am worried it is "inside"....after 2 sections I think the colposcopy process can be incomplete?

hi,

it's good that he's looking into, things further for you, when you are so concerned about symptoms. It is possible that they might to do some punch biopsies. Adenocarcenoma is the one that lurks further up the cervix, so they'll want to rule that out.

your symptoms could all be something else, so try not to worry too much, easier said than done I know.
