New journey

Today had the EUA and biopsies taken, thankfully in and out quickly.  Glad for the 10 days wait for results, as I can forget or at least try to forget about the bugger that is invading me.

After the confirmation that things are difficult and having it in more than one area complication things, I am strangly calm.

Enjoy the time when you can find that normal place. And thank you ladies for the space to allow us to vent, reclaim ourseleves. Xxx

Hi Zippydoda

So sorry for what you are going through, I'm keeping everything crossed for you that the results come back better than you think.

Yes, its hard trying to find that normal place to have some quality time but I really hope you manage to do that and continue to do so.

We are all here to support you through this next stage, please keep us posted.

Big hugs

So had a phone consultation today.  MDT meeting are still undecided regarding my treatment. have now been referred to specialist surgeon with possibility of pelvic clearance in mind and removal of para-aortic nodes.  I am being told that they need to do something heroic if I am going to be considered cured! I not sure how I feel about this, or even how I am supposed to make these decisions.  If I don't have the surgery and they concentrate on radiotherapy for the chest, I risk further tumours in the pelvis, I am already having symptoms of things not going right. If I have the surgery I may be clear but with life changing impact with no idea if it has already started to make invasions elsewhere. I am so confused, and I the surgery scares me as who wants theur loved ones to have to go through that too.

Thoughts anyone, has anyone else had to make these decisions especially regarding the pelvic clearance.?

Hi Zippy,

So sorry to hear you are having to face this. You might find this helpful, you could even try sending a PM to it's author;

Hi Zippy,

so so sorry to read the latest development.  What an awful thing to have to go through.  All you can do is be guided by the specialist surgeon and those that have been through similar.  Like Tivoli I will be keeping everything crossed for you.

Sending you big hugs

Had to make a decision regarding next stage.  My best option regarding removing both areas is the surgical route, they are going to do their best to save my bladder and bowel, but cannot guarantee this.  I have a month to prepare myself for the next part of this treatment. Now the decision has been made I feel more in control, and I have lots planned to squeeze into the 30 days.

Hopefully things will work out for the best.

Hey hon. Purely from a treatment point of view, one of the positives is that they can 'save' the radiation for use later if it's needed. You can only have so much radiotherapy in one lifetime so if surgery is an option, I think it's a good idea to take it and you've made the right decision.

My lung floaters were inoperable so I had to have chemo but I am lucky in that it's working so they can 'save' chest radiotherapy for later if I need it. These are never easy decisions but keep going my lovely and know you have an army of foof warriors behind you!

Love, Anna xx

Just so you know I am cheering you on from the bench! Pom-poms, ra-ra skirt, the full monty.

That's some really sound advice Anna!

Be lucky

Hi Zippy

Really rooting for you too.  Hopefully the surgery will turn things round for you, it certainly sounds the best option and like Anna and Tivoli above we will all be here supporting you along the way.

Big hugs

Hi Anna I have already had the radio and chemo so those options are already out, this is the last option for the lady parts.  In terms of the para- aortic nodes I can still do the chemo and radiotherapy on those areas, some treatment is better than none, and they don't want to miss the window before it's too late.

thanks everyone for your thoughts xxx
