Low grade dyskarosis - moderate aceto

Hi I’ve had long term HPV for years now. Got diagnosed with low grade dyskarosis hpv high risk and went to colposcopy. During colposcopy he took a biopsy and on the notes it said moderate aceto white staining. Is it possible my smear was misdiagnosed and I actually have moderate dysplasia? I am getting very worried

Hi kat, it’s my understanding that degree of dysplasia refers to the depth of the tissue that is affected. Mild dysplasia means only one third of the depth of the tissue is abnormal and this can only be detected under the microscope. The staining shows where the affected sites are on the cervix. So I wouldn’t worry!

Ok that helps thank you! Was starting to really freak myself out!
