Hi ladies. Ive spoken before about my incontinece issue. I do have so wear a pad all the time. I leak during the day- stress incontinece. Ive had 4 children naturally so i experienced this before alghough there has been an increase since treatment. I’ve had about 5 incindents at night. It seems to be when im laying on my back. Its not a full on wee if thay makes sense. I wake up with a damp patch!
Anyone had any treatment/medication to deal with it?
Hello lovely Shammy. What a pain. Are you doing your pelvic floor exercises? It needs to become an obsession - when you’re sitting, lying in bed at night (I would could up to 100 on my fingers, squeezing with each count - then holding as long as I could at the end. If you’re tired you’ll fall asleep doing it!! Believe me it helps. Pelvic floor exercises are, as far as I’m aware, the only non-surgical way of tightening up those muscles, which is what is likely to be causing the leakage. However, waking up with a damp patch may suggest that you do need a little bit of help, so please talk to your nurse but also make a GP request for a referral - especially if you’ve had this before and the treatment has made it worse. There is a drug, but of course it has side effects - and there are things (electrical stimulation, biofeedback etc) that the NHS can offer, but they’ll want to try a non-invasive route first - cut down on caffeine, lose weight, stop smoking, do your Kegel exercises (pelvic floor)… so good idea to work on the basics and if that doesn’t make a difference you’re more likely to get a referral… xx
Thank you my lovely! Its irritating but if thats as much damage ive been left with I’ll take it! Ill start those pelvic floor moves
Hi Shammy
My bladder constantly leaks. So I have botox injections into it to cut down the leaking and deal with urgency. It really has improved my quality of life.
I tried lots of different medications but nothing works as well as the botox.
Hope this helps

Hi i finished my treatment late 2018 and i have bladder incontinence, i got referred to an incontinence nurse and got pads on prescription and given exercies to do , i was also put on a water tablet that aims to make me have larger wees less frequent. I was also referred to a urology specialist after about 4 check ups with the incontinence service. Thus wasnt until September 2020 They carried out various tests and i was told i qualifed for bladder botox injections but there was a wait this was 23rd december 2020… in August 2021 i had my 1st lot of bladder botox injections, you can rebook these every 6months… unfortunately this procedure was unsuccessful i had water infections on and off for 6 weeks then all my symptoms returned in February this year 6 months after the 1st lot i put my name on the list for them again . I was told it at least 6 month wait if not longer. Im currently a year since my 1st botox and still waitng to go back. There is more things you can do there is just long waitng list
