Hello my girlfriend and I have been together for 3 years the last smear was fine 3 years ago she had one last month and it came back abnormal cin1 and high risk hpv I read online that hpv can last up to 2 years so my question is if I gave her hpv why has she still got it now as we first had sex 3years ago so if I did give it her why is it still there now how long does it take to catch hpv from somebody and how long does it take hpv to change cells has it been dormant is there anyway of telling how long somebody has had it for or when they got it? just can’t get my head around it thanks
