High Risk or Low Risk HPV

Hi,

I have been diagnosed HPV during my last two results now, the first result I have Cin1 and Cin2, and the LETZ procedure to remove abnormal cells. The 2nd result was no abnormal cells but still HPV positive which means I haven’t cleared it in 2 years :frowning:

I was just wondering - it didn’t state on my letter whether my HPV is high risk or low risk. I did ask the nurse who said they don’t have a procedure for checking the risk type, and another nurse said if it was high risk, it should say on my letter.

Does anyone know if this is something that is usually stated on our smear test results as a rule?

Thanks so much

Hi, im just looking into all this myself as of last month. I noticed there was a difference when they write hpv infection to hpv positive… I’m hpv positive and this states that it means a higher risk of developing cancerous cells in the future. Sorry if this doesn’t help. I’m scared too. I only had this last month, my others have been clear. Xx
