Hi ladies,
i just wanted to post some positivity as I have gone through the motions with this whole process. I had glandular cells with high grade changes and thought it ment I definitely had the c! Googling does not help at all. I had letts performed under local and received the results yesterday that the treatment was successful and on 6 month checks ups! Stay strong and positive xx
Thanks for posting Jadelee. I also was diagnosed with glandular abnormalities (adenocarcinoma in situ) and had a LEEP in November. While the margins were not confirmed clear (due to cauterized edges, so could not say definitively if they got clear margins or not), I was told to go back for a colposcopy in 4 months. I did that and the results came back normal. I've now been asked to go back within another 4-6 months for follow up. Just wanted to say for those in the thick of it, that it sucks and the waiting and uncertainty are the worst parts. I drove myself crazy googling and playing through so many what if scenarios. It was traumatic and I sought counselling for all of the anxiety.
Although I feel like I'm not totally through it, after 9 months of going through this, I just want to say thanks to this forum and all of the ladies sharing their experiences. Just remember: you're probably stronger than you give yourself credit for and you will be able to handle whatever scenario comes out. Try not to compulsively google everything (easier said than done) and realize that every body and case is different so don't equate your experience with anyone else's. Sending out lots of positive thoughts to everyone.
Can they detect glandular cell changes through a smear? Or only via colposcopy?
My glandular cell changes were detected from a very thorough smear test I even commented to my nurse at the time that she felt like she was going for my tonsils haha. I will be forever grateful to that nurse x
