**Forum research- Please read**

Hi everyone,

We will be collaborating with Nottingham Trent University on a research project focusing on the impact our forum has on quality of life and online social support.

The research will also be looking at how the support you receive on the forum effects the way you experience your diagnosis, treatment, and beyond. We hope this research will add value and credibility to the benefit our forum has for our community, and can be viewed as a vital service for women, friends, and family going through a diagnosis of cervical cancer.

As part of the project the research team at Nottingham Trent will be looking at the category; Cervical Cancer Newly Diagnosed

The team will be looking at posts for their therapeutic qualities, including sharing problem experience, and problem-focused and emotion-focused coping.

The project will be ongoing for the next 3 months (May – July)

It is of the utmost importance to us that the forum stays a safe and supportive environment for you. As I’m sure you are already aware, all posts on the forum are in the public domain. However, despite this, please be reassured that all information accessed through the forum by the research team during the project will totally be anonymised, your posts will not be able to be traced back to you, and your identity will be protected. The research team will not be able to see your contact details.

If you would prefer for your posts not to be part of the project or would like more information please do get in contact with either myself at fran@jostrust.org.uk or Daria Kuss, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Nottingham Trent daria.kuss@ntu.ac.uk

Best wishes

Fran
