Fluid in cervix post treatment

Fluid in Cervix post treatment. Has anyone had this? I’ve been for an appt today and had an internal ultrasound and been advised I have fluid in my cervix. The hospital haven’t been seeing me when they are meant to and this appointment was meant to be in Oct. They are sending me for an MRI to see what type of fluid but I’m terrified it’s a tumour. Thanks

Hi, I have protein fluid in my uterus according to my last 2 MRI’s, my doctor explained that it’s a side effect from radiation and they didn’t seem concerned.

Prayers and hugs

Hi, thanks for replying I really needed to hear someone who has been through it with a positive outcome. Hopefully the MRI can confirm it is just fluid. I was concerned they were maybe getting it wrong from ultrasound and it’s a tumour. Doc defo said fluid though. My mind automatically thought the worst again.. Hope ur doing well. Xx

I know how it feels . I’m good, I have some pain in my ankles, knees but I’m happy that my last MRI in october didn’t show anything concerning, praise God! I have to check up on my chest scan and have another MRI in January and I hope all will be ok. My fluid also showed up as fluid on the ultrasound (post MRI) so I think the ultrasound findings are usually reliable.

I had the same thing. Fluid as a side effect from radiation. I was told it’s no big deal unless it becomes a lot and causes discomfort. That never happened though. No need to worry

Hiya,

I also have fluid surrounding my uterus (I don’t have a cervix anymore!) that was found during an ultrasound. As far as I’m aware, this can be a post-inflammatory thing so is probably a side effect of radiation as others have said.

Take care xxx
