Finished today

Hey everyone,

So I’ve just got home from my last brachytherapy treatment… what an emotional rollercoaster that 7 weeks have been.
I really just wanted to come on here to try and help people who are going through or about to start treatment. From my diagnosis to today I know what affect it has on you, your family and your life!
But…. There is an end and we are stronger than we think
I’m happy to answer any questions. Good luck and for those that have finished, well done!

Congratulations for the end of treatment!

I got my official Diagnosis and Stage today which is Stage 2B adenocarcinoma, no node involvement. A glimmer of hope in a dreadful situation.
Next step is planning and handover to specialist team in the City Cancer Centre Hospital.

Thank you for sharing your news. X

Great to hear you’re finished well done.
I have 1 week to go then 3 brachy treatments so the end is now in sight.

That’s great! My symptoms have been pretty dreadful but I guess we are all different and i just tell myself that I need to feel rubbish to feel better again
Brachytherapy is the home stretch… I too was terrified of that but it was fine, all that worry for nothing
Good luck for the rest of treatment, smash it girl x

You sound positive and ready to fight this which is great! I can remember my diagnosis day and thinking my life was over, there was no way I could go through this. But… 7 weeks later and here I am. We find the strength from somewhere eh?
Wishing you the best of Luck, go and smash it  x

I wish you all the best… I was stage 3 and had 5 weeks of chemo and radiation and 4 brachytherapy blasts. I am a week out of treatment and apart from feeling tired I don’t feel too bad.
I can remember the start of my treatment like it was yesterday and cannot believe how quick it went. You’ve got this

Oh thanks. I can’t get chemotherapy because of my heart so it’s 7 weeks of radiotherapy I refused brachytherapy. Hope ur doing well. When do u find out if it’s worked.? Xx

I have a check up in 3 weeks and then a scan in 3 months. My last MRI showed the tumour had shrunk considerably ready for brachytherapy so I’m hopeful.
Can I ask the reason for refusing brachytherapy? Xx

I just don’t fancy the brachytherapy heard it’s painfull xx

Oh ok… I didn’t find it that bad but I was very nervous about having it done so I can see your fear. Stay safe and good luck with treatment xx

Thanks cc
