Edge of the sample?!

This forum has been great. I finally joined!

I received CIN3 results back in April after LLETZ. I'm feeling back to normal. However I'm still a little worried as the results letter said 'no sign of cancer but the edge of the sample showed changes which we hope the diathermy we use at the end of the procedure destroyed'. Has anyone else had this? I have a follow up in six months.

Does this mean I don't have clear margins that everyone speaks of? As this is what I assume ...

I had this. Consultant gave me my results and yes basically it means unclear margins. He also stated he hopes the diathermy would have gotten last of the cells. I had my test for cure smear last week and waiting for results. Unclear margins does mean slightly higher risk of needing furt treatment... I'm just crossing all my fingers & toes x
