Hi,
I had my smear in March a year late due to covid, which came back borderline cell changes and positive HPV.
Had a colposcopy in April my cervix was inflamed and bleeding when touched. No sign of ectropion. I had quite a few biopsies taken. Came back recently as CIN2/CIN3 and they have booked me in for cold coagulation.
I understand the pros of the cold coagulation, not as invasive, quicker healing process and doesn’t effect pregnancy. Small risk of cervical stenosis. However lletz or loop seems to be the most common method of treatment. I have researched both and I think I like the sound of lletz rather than the cold coagulation, reason being is that samples are sent and results will show whether clear margins have been met.
I know cold coagulation is used for people that havnt finished their families, I have stated to them I don’t want any more children. Or am I jumping the gun and they have booked me in for this procedure due to my cervix bleeding when touched?
Can anyone enlighten me on why they might have chosen this procedure for me? And will I be able to discuss this in my consultation prior to treatment. Based in the UK.
Thanks
