Colposcopy results cin3

Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I just got my colposcopy biopsy results back and all 3 of them came back as cin3… the doctor said it was quite extension as all of them extended beyond the margins. I was wondering if anyone had a similar result and if they could share their experience.

Hello do you mean you had LLETZ and came back with no clear margins? Or is just a punch byopsy? If is from punch byopsy then LLETZ will follow. If your results are from the Lletz then normally when margins are not clear a second LLETZ gets done to make sure all the abnormal cells are removed and none are left behind.
Sorry for your results I know it can be stressful,I also had a CIN3 diagnosis 1 year ago, but CIN3 is very treatable and fantastic news as is not a cancer result . Take care

Hello, I am in the US so first they do a colposcopy. The results from colposcopy was cin3 on all 3 biopsies with it extending past the tissue in all biopsies, Including up in my canal. My doctor referred me to a specialist yesterday and they are saying it’s quite extensive and wide spread so they will be removing a large piece of my cervix with a cold knife cone. I haven’t had children yet so they are trying to preserve my fertility and also hope the biopsy from that doesn’t show cancer. Has anyone here had extensive cin3… had a cone and been able to have children? Or been told the cin3 is pretty widespread and after the cone the result is cancer?

Hello I had CIN3 from byopsy but CGIN and CIN3 from Lletz and had quite a chunk of my cervix removed also after Lletz they used a Laser to finish killing all the bad cells as it was also quite up in my cannal also. I had 2 test since one at 3 months and another at 6 months and all clear of abnormal cells but still HPV positive, I am going next month for my 1 year check hopefully it will be good again. :crossed_fingers:
I am 43 and with 2 kids so fertility was not an issue for me. But I believe many women have children after Lletz or Cone they just do close monitoring it should not stop you from having kids I believe there is some positive post in this site about kids after Lletz maybe you can check them out. Good luck for your surgery keep positive is very treatable. Take care let me know how you get on

Hi Hop1, thanks so much for your reply. I’m glad you are all clear of abnormal cells, and good to hear everything worked out for you. It’s such a stressful time. The nerves and anxiousness seem to take over throughout the day. Can I ask you, your Lletz, was it a cone procedure? Was there anything that changed after the procedure? Such as sex, normal discharge, pain, things like that? The doctor is telling me that due to the area being so large and since I have cin3 in my endocervical canal the cone is the only way to proceed. I did read some posts about pregnancy after a cone or leep ( Lltez)… most seem positive… as I hope it will be for me also.

My Byopsy only picked up the CIN3 but then during the Lletz my gynecologist realised I also had CGIN and she managed to do a bigger Lletz than usual and also use the Laser around the area I am so grateful that she did that because from what I have seen not all doctors do that and most end up having a 2 lletz to be able to remove all , in that way you are lucky they already know they will find CGIN and probably that is why they are choosing to do a cold knife cone to make sure they get all the abnormalities out.
About recovery I was unlucky and got an infection but is very uncommon to get one, antibiotics did the job and got rid of the infection fast.
About sex for me it feels exactly the same as before no problems at all but they said sex OK after 6 weeks but I waited just about 8 , to make sure it was all fully working LOL.
Periods were a bit more painful for about 6 months but nothing too bad, and now they are back to normal. I didn’t have much bleeding but I believe is quite common to have some bleeding for a few weeks. Take care

Praying for the best outcome at this point… and staying positive. Hoping your one year check up turns out well.
