Hi guys just looking for a bit of reassurance really...
In 2012 I had an abnormal smear but fell pregnant so never went for a repeat. In December 2013 I had another which came back as abnormal, a repeat was done which also came back as abnormal.
In January I had my 1st colposcopy and was told I had CIN 3. Being pregnant again at the time no biopsy was taken but I had a further colposcopy in June and was then told to.come.back for treatment after the baby was born. I am booked in for my 3rd colposcopy and maybe treatment next month.
IIm a little worried that its been left so long without treatment. Has anyone been in a similar situation where it's been a while before having any treatment?? Am trying not to think about it but ad it's getting closer Im panicking a little!! xxx
I'm sorry you're having this horrible time. I haven't been in your particular situation but I'm sure the health professionals you're dealing with would have been keeping a close eye on you. They don't just ignore your bits because you're pregnant. If they were worried about the time lapse they would have done something about it.
Take care and I hope you find a way to calm yourself. Worrying won't help. :)
As Kirsty says, the medical team who have been looking after you will not have been ingoring your bits just because you have been pregnant. There are some women here less fortunate than yourself who have been advised to have pregnancies terminated so that they can be treated sooner. Since your team have allowed you to take yor pregnancy to full term it sounds very much as though you don't have a disaster to face.
Mornin ladies, thanks for the reassurance :) it's funny how your mind can get carried away thinking about all sorts! Especially when your waiting! It's getting closer and to be honest am "pooing" myself with having treatment...nit been told what to expect or anything?! Xx
You are correct! The mind plays horrific tricks on all of us. Since you haven't been told what to expect, you'll just have to look at it like an exciting surprise then :-) Just like Christmas only perhaps not quite as much fun :-)
