CIN 3 and Pregnant

I had the mirena in for two years. We planned on having our second and last child and got it removed. I then bled heavily for a month non stop. I was sent for a pap smear and I was diagnosed with HPV Cin 2 - gyne did a colposcopy and it came back CIN 3. I was told I need to go for Cone Biopsy immediately. I then found out that I am 2-3 weeks pregnant. He said he is not sure that we are able to continue with the pregnancy. Does anyone have more information on this? We are contacting specialists on Monday. Is it safe for both baby and I to carry this pregnancy through? Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey chickii,,

Sorry to hear,, I'm in the same boat too,  well kind of ,, I'm under going ivf and I am a cin2 ivf doctors are having a meeting to see if I can continue or not,,, however my colp nurse suggest that it is still safe as I'm doing a alternative treatment and they monitor me with coloscopy  every 6 months, my ivf doctors say it's not safe to do whilst pregnant (coloscopy),, I will continue with a leet procedure after I've given birth that's my plan if all my drs agree, I hope this info helps you out take care x

Hi

it sounds like you will have a tough decision to make in the next week or so. I am not by any means a dr but here are the things you will have to weigh in your mind.

CIN3 is very important to be treated and although it usually is a very slow progression from severe dys  to invasive cc.hormones from pregnancy can speed up the process because your body is busy giving everything to a baby instead of fighting off the abnormal cells.

in most cases when cin3 is detected it can be removed with a lletz or a cone biopsy but this might cause you to have a misscarriage

however , if you choose to leave it and continue with this pregnancy the cin3 (which could already be cc) could possibly develope further and spread and become invasive.

You will have to ask some detailed questions at your appointment and make a hard decision for yourself and family.

I hope everything turns out for you. I might be sounding very straight forward but just wanted you to know what I think you are possibly facing.

What was the outcome for you x
