Cancerous cells

Hey girls! So i received the biggest shock yesterday with a cancer diagnosis and i honestly can’t believe this is happening :flushed: i have been waiting 9 weeks for biopsy results to come back and was thinking no news is good news. How wrong was I!

Pre cancerous cells have been found on my cervix as well as cancerous cells found in a gland in my cervix. I’m told this is further up the cervix and harder to detect? Anyway, i didn’t quite take in what the gynaecologist was telling me but the mcmillan nurse was fab and very straight to the point! She said they reckon its stage 1 and as i have no symptoms and feel fit and well, this is a good sign. She has also told me treatment will be a hysterectomy or chemotherapy. I’m now waiting on an appointment for my mri.

Im really trying to hold it together for my husband and my wee boys though i know my eldest can sense something is wrong. Hes only 7! The waiting and not knowing is going to be awful.

Hi there!

I was the exact same as you, cancerous and pre cancerous in the glands, adencarcinoma.

I’m 7 months post hysterectomy, kept my ovaries and was all clear after the op with no other treatment

It’s a shock but you can do it! Hopefully you’ll hear soon what is going to happen next, be brave you can do this! Xx

Kimmy thank you so much for replying to me. I’m so glad to hear your treatment went well! Your message has given me a little hope  god its so hard being a woman isn’t it :woman_facepalming: we never get it easy  im hoping my mri appointment arrives soon. Xx

Hey Jenn how are you? Did you get any further news? Hope you’re well xx

Hi Kimmy! Im ok thanks. Had my mri on Friday morning. Have an appointment to go over results on Wednesday. Spoke to the specialist nurses a couple of times. They have told me i have stage 1 cancer but the cells are grade 3. Meaning they grow quicker! And if I’m going down the RH route, the waiting list here is 8-10 weeks. Every day there is a new worry.

Hey how are you? How did it go today? Xx

Hi Kimmy! It went well thank you. Tumour is 2cm and hasn’t spread. So im officially on the waiting list for a radical hysterectomy x

That’s good news! Well not good news but you know what I mean, definite positive in there!
Hopefully your wait won’t be too long, I had it and I was absolutely fine xx

Good news, Jenn, that it has not spread - horrible to have got cancer at all, of course, but it does sound like they’re confident the RH will sort it out. I hope everything gets into gear really soon for you.
