Bleeding since smear test

Hi,

I had my first test on thursday 16th feb and have been bleeding since - it is now sunday night. I’m not sure what to do… any advice?

Hi is it heavy bleeding requiring sanitary? It is common to spot after a smear in some women, especially if you have sensitive cervix. Are you sure it isn't your period?

Yeah, I usually use tampons but they have been painful.  Not sure if it could be period, I have the implant... last one was 2 weeks ago though.

It is odd that you've had your period. When I search online it says..

 

It is normal to experience spotting (slight bleeding) following a smear, so do not be worried by this. However, if you undergo any discomfort or heavy bleeding you should consult your doctor.
