Bleeding After Loop and biopsies

I’m wondering what other people experiences have been.

I’m almost 3 weeks after surgery now and pretty much everything I read mentions dark brown spotting or less.

However I still have bleeding. And after having complications early on I’m wondering how common this is? It’s not particularly heavy and certainly nothing like it was the day of my hospital appointment but it’s hard to tell if it’s improving or if I should even expect it to yet.

All my paperwork refers to 4 weeks for refraining from exercise, sex, baths, hotub etc and to expect bleeding but everything online seems to imply it should have all settled now.

I know there’s a range of healing, so for those who had more or longer bleeding? How did it go for you?

Hi @LucyJ

Its very common to have bleeding right up untill the 4 week mark, some can even last longer than 4 weeks it really just depends on the person… for me everything stopped dead on 4 weeks and i had no complications with mine

Jos advice is- "Bleeding
About 85 in 100 (85%) people experience bleeding after LLETZ. About 15 in 100 (15%) people do not experience bleeding. Bleeding is expected after LLETZ and can last between 2 days to up to 4 weeks.

You may have bleeding because of the soft scab that forms on the cervix where the cells were removed. This may bleed while it heals.

The bleeding is usually like a period, but may be slightly heavier than your normal period. About 10 days after treatment, the bleeding may get heavier. This is common and a sign that the scab is healing. Your first period after treatment may be slightly heavier or out-of-sync with your regular cycle."
