I am a waitin my results but am not well been bleedin more then a shud after a period my belly is swallin got took to hospital from docs waitin for a scan and my smear results it has got me ill with worry 
Hi Carry, I received my first smear test results yesterday which confirmed I am positive with no abnormal cell changes. I also have a long term partner who I’ve been completely transparent with so he can help support me. Ringing Jo’s support line (0808 802 8000) was really helpful for me because they gave me information surrounding HPV which has made me realise how common it is!

Received my smear results, high risk hpv found and I’ve been referred for a colopscopy.
My mind is racing, i cant think if anything i may have missed or didnt so. I keep going to the wprst possible outcome and cant stop crying.
My partner feels like im shutting him out but i just cant see past the next test.
How do you keep positive when all you can think of is how you’re letting people down and how bad it could be?

Last week I got my smear results which said HPV+ we also checked for changed to the cells in your cervix and we have seen changes…doesn’t say what changes and I haven’t seen anybody get a letter like this before so I’m absolutely terrified obviously! I called the clinic and I’m on the waiting list for a colposcopy and I asked for a cancellation so I’m on that list too as the waiting is driving me insane, anyone else had a smear results letter like this? I’ve waited 9 weeks for my results and now could take 8-10 weeks before I get my colposcopy I’m In Scotland ??
Second year high risk HPV for myself no cell change yet I’ve to go to colposcopy clinic.Previously CIN 3 had biopsy and intense treatment years ago.Not sure if I’m getting called due to previous result.
I’m central Scotland seven weeks before mine was checked then week later received results after chasing them.

Had my first colposcopy as experienced post coital bleeding, discharge and abdominal pain in July 2023. Doctor had seen some abnormal changes, biopsy was taken and came back as low grade changes and HPV detected. Smear in 2021 all normal. As I was assured it is nothing too serious and it can go away on its own, I had follow up appointment booked. I had silver nitrate applied.
Today I had my follow up appointment with another doctor. I still experience same symptoms plus bleeding in between menstrual cycles. She did colposcopy and said that can see my cervix is being inflamed. Took biopsy and did smear test. Now waiting for the results…
Has anyone been in similar situation? I don’t know what to expected and it is stressing me out.
Hi all, I had my second smear test done two weeks ago as my first showed up with HPV and no cell changes, however my second showed HPV positive and high grade cell changes. I had an urgent referral in less than 24 hours for a colposcopy. They’ve now taken two biopsies from me and I now have the agonizing 2-3 week wait for my results to come back. Full of stress, anxiety and worry. Just needed to get that out there into the world as i’m feeling extremely lonely!

I had my smear 6 days ago and have had HPV the last two years. The nurse called today and said I had high risk HPV (severe) and will need a coloscopy and cells treated. I haven’t had any paperwork yet. Does anyone know if it’s normal to receive a call within a week of a smear? I asked the surgery to send my results and on there it says grade 4…yet not seen anything online about 4 only CIN 1-3.
Hi all, I got my letter on Saturday regarding hpv and abnormal cells and to expect to hear re colposcopy in 4 weeks if not chase. First time to have that diagnosis for me and my long term partner is now worried I’ve infected him. My last partner was v short lived around 8 years ago.
My partner is saying about protection but I’m assuming he has it also. Just feel dirty
Please please don’t feel like that, HPV is nothing to be ashamed of! around 80% of adults will contract this at some point in their lives. I’m 25, I have been very careful all my sexual life, I was the first year group in my school to receive the HPV vaccine, and I’m currently sat here with high grade CIN 3 and awaiting surgery in the next couple of days to get it removed. Please don’t feel dirty, as you’re really not, it can happen to absolutely anyone - and your partner should really be supporting you and how you may be feeling.

Thinking about you, how are you doing? I am still no wiser with my case. Still waiting for that letter from the MDT meeting that was held Jan 8th. Last time I waited 5weeks for the dreaded letter to arrive. Regarding HPV, I have high grade and I have been totally single for 11 years. It can just sit and wait for years without you knowing anything about it.
I understand how you feel. I have the same diagnosis you do but my doctor isn’t worried. He suggested I wait for my next smear test in a year. This whole HPV thing is so frustrating!!! I got no help from the doctor’s office. Luckily I found this forum! I’m 63 and have been divorced for 2 years. It’s hard enough to date but throw in the HPV and what’s a girl to do? I live in the U.S. and the doctors don’t think it’s a big deal! I just needed to vent. Thank you for listening
Scarysad. Don’t be sad. We are all going through it. To others it seems as if it is ok and not a real reason to stress about. But when it happens to yourself it changes your thoughts.

We will be here. I want to rant and rave. I have never felt so angry in my life. You can get your frustration out on this forum. Few weeks ago I felt like smashing my kitchen up. Unreal emotions but they are real.
I totally understand!!! After I got angry I realized that the stress wouldn’t help the immune system. I have no choice but to deal with it. The information on the Internet scares the you know what out of me and then I go to the doctors who don’t think it’s a big deal!!!
The medical professionals need to come up with something to remedy the virus instead of spending $$$ on Viagra!!!
